James McBride, CFA
Mr. McBride is Lead Portfolio Manager of the
Scout Small Cap Equity Strategy. Prior to
joining the firm through acquisition in 2009, he worked as vice president and
portfolio manager of TrendStar, a firm he co-founded in 2003. Prior to
TrendStar, Mr. McBride was previously employed by KCM as a vice president and
research analyst and also served in a number of increasingly responsible
positions with Hewlett-Packard and subsidiary companies of Hewlett-Packard from
1989 through 2000. He has 32 years of financial industry experience. Mr.
McBride earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Indiana University
and a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in Mechanical Engineering from
Wichita State University. Mr. McBride is also a graduate of the General
Electric Manufacturing Management Program for Manufacturing Engineers in 1986.
He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Society Kansas
City, as well as the CFA Institute.
Tim Miller, CFA
Mr. Miller is Co-Portfolio Manager of the Scout Small Cap Equity Strategy. Prior to joining the investment management team in 2013, he provided fundamental research in the industrials and materials sectors as a senior investment analyst. Before joining the firm in 2012, Mr. Miller served as senior investment analyst for American Century Investments, providing equity research coverage of the energy, industrials and materials sectors. In addition, Mr. Miller provided generalist coverage as needed for the consumer discretionary, consumer staples, information technology and health care sectors. Previous employers include Insight Capital Research & Management, C.E. Unterberg Towbin and Banc of America Securities. He has 27 years of financial industry experience. Mr. Miller earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Indiana University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UCLA. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Society Kansas City, as well as the CFA Institute.
Tim Burger, CFA
Mr. Burger is Senior Investment Analyst, providing
fundamental company research on the Scout Small Cap Equity investment team.
Prior to joining the firm in 2019, he served as an assistant portfolio manager
at Waddell & Reed with previous experience as a financial advisor for UBS
and a director for Formula One, the global motorsport competition. He has 22 years of financial industry experience. Mr. Burger earned an MBA in Finance and
Bachelor of Arts from The University of Kansas. He is a CFA® charterholder and
a member of the CFA Society Kansas City, as well as the CFA Institute.
